Galahs often fly in flocks around our neighbourhood at Lake Macquarie. This pair are caught, frozen in flight. They remind me of the words of the John Williams song: “Galaxies of Pink Galahs, crystal nights with diamond stars.” I often witness these moments when the flock of galahs in flight reveal their magnificent, abundant feathered wings in this striking combination of pinks and greys. Their raucous squeals fill the skies as the fly past in their flocks.
