Paul Gorjan

With a PhD in Geology, Paul Gorjan creates delicate still life and landscape paintings that capture the quiet beauty of nature. While his scientific background informs his deep understanding of the natural world, his art stands apart, focusing on capturing light, texture, and the subtle interplay of colour in serene, contemplative scenes. His works evoke a sense of tranquility and invite viewers to experience the beauty of everyday moments and landscapes. As an amateur artist living in the Blue Mountains, he has been a twice winner of the Blackheath Art Prize and commended in competitions at Bowral Art Gallery and Blue Mountains Art Prize. He has also been a finalist in numerous art competitions around Australia. This includes the Pirtek Still Life Prize, Gallipoli Art Prize, John Copes Portrait Prize, Singleton Art Prize, Lethbridge 20000 Art Prize, Hawkesbury Art Prize, Waverley Art Prize, National Capital Art Prize, and the Lester Prize.
