Petra Reece

Petra Reece is an Australian artist, born in Zaandam, Netherlands. Petra usually paints in series. Moreover, Petra is not a single subject painter; her oeuvre comprises landscapes, still life, and figurative works. Petra's work is realist with concentration on light and shadow. Her artwork has been influenced by Edward Hopper after having seen his exhibition many years ago. Petra was born in Holland and emigrated to Australia with her family. Her father and brother both artists, worked making and restoring stained glass. Petra graduated with a B.A. and post graduate diploma at the Phillip Institute of Technology. She has had several solo exhibitions and has twice won the Castlemaine Self Portrait prize. Her work is in both private and public collections.
