Frances Feasey

Based in the Blue Mountains, Frances Feasey is primarily a landscape painter with a strong interest in Australian treescapes. Trained to Honours level of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Art UNSW, building on top of her earlier studies of Fine Arts at Tamworth TAFE, she embarked on a painting career focusing on topics such as back-burning and forest regeneration in her art practice. Frances has been selected as a finalist in significant art prizes, including the Hawkesbury Art Prize 2019 (major prize winner and winner Packers Prize), Evelyn Chapman Art Award in 2018, the Dobell Drawing Prize, NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize 2016 and 2011. Capturing light, usually observed at the end of the day, diffusing through the forests of trees is a strong characteristic and signature style of her work.
