Conversation with the Artists & Gallery Tour
This is an outstanding exhibition that celebrates the beauty of everyday objects and inspiring interiors through oil paintings. The elegance and sophistication of the oil paintings featured is also characterized by the artists’ ability to capture the quiet and subtle aspects of still life and contemporary interior scenes.
The paintings in this exhibition not only capture the essence of still life and interior scenes, but also evoke a sense of nostalgia and contemplation. They encourage the viewer to slow down and appreciate the beauty in the everyday, reminding us to take a moment to find joy in the simple things around us.
Each painting showcases a sense of calm and tranquillity, highlighting the beauty of the objects and spaces in their simplicity. Antoinette Tyndall utilises a soft colour palette and gentle, precise brushstrokes to create a serene atmosphere, transporting the viewer into a peaceful state of mind. The still life paintings feature objects such as flowers, fruit, and pottery arranged in a natural and effortless manner.
Kate Nielsen’s well known interior scenes depict domestic spaces like bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens, and skilfully conveys the intimacy and warmth of these spaces, making them feel inviting and comforting. Kate’s colour palette and brush work tends to approach colour and textures with a sense of creativity and openness, exploring the full range of possibilities to create unique and expressive works of art. She often experiments with colour combinations that are unexpected or unconventional, such as pairing complementary colours or using analogous colour in unexpected ways. Kate’s artwork is now sought after internationally, having recently exhibited in California.
Overall, the style of oil paintings in Quietude is a celebration of the subtle beauty found in still life and interior scenes, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of tranquility and peace. And, in a time where mental and emotional well-being are more important than ever, investing in art can be a valuable way to bring some peace and serenity into our lives.
