There’s a certain magic in small artworks and handcrafted pieces … they draw you in, invite you to pause, and reward you with detail and intimacy. Little things hold stories quietly, yet so beautifully, and often become the pieces we treasure most. This final exhibition celebrates the power of these smaller works: thoughtfully made, full of heart, and a reminder that scale has nothing to do with significance.

Small artworks and ceramics are often the pieces that find the perfect place in our homes — on shelves, beside lamps, on desks, or grouped together as thoughtful collections. They make art accessible, personal, and easy to live with. For this final exhibition, we’ve brought together an exceptional selection of small-scale works that showcase quality, originality, and the joy of discovering something special.

A message from the Gallery

As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to share an important update about the future of the gallery.

Our upcoming exhibition on the 6th December will be the final in-house exhibition for the year – and also the last before I place the gallery on an indefinite pause. While the online side of the gallery will continue, in-person openings are no longer financially viable; it now costs more to keep the doors open than closed. The past 12 months have been extremely challenging, with the high cost of living, rising interest rates, and a tough climate for both galleries and artists. Many creative practitioners are feeling uncertain about what lies ahead, and I have felt this deeply.

I’ll be taking the next six months to reflect and consider the best path forward. I will definitely reopen later in 2026, but in what form is still to be decided – perhaps with fewer but larger exhibitions, or by hiring out the gallery space to artists and groups. I may also reconsider regular weekend openings so that my personal life has room to breathe. I have two young grandchildren whose football games I’m longing to watch, and another grandchild arriving in New York early next year – so I’ll be heading overseas again around March.

It saddens me to close the doors for now, but I’m hopeful about the next chapter and grateful for your support through every twist and turn of the past two decades.

Please pop into the gallery on Saturday 6 December, or any time before Christmas, so we can say a warm cheerio for now. We’ll also be holding a special pre-Christmas framing sale, with many frames available for $5 or $10.

I look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen in 2026 to celebrate our 20-year milestone, with a refreshed approach and new energy.
