Martin Campbell
Martin Campbell is a Sydney based artist who works in oil. His work moves between the industrial landscape of Sydney Harbour, the rugged ocean cliffs of the coast, and the idyllic reaches of the Hawkesbury River. He is passionate about the landscape and enjoys sharing this passion with fellow painters on regular en plein air painting trips. He is also a keen model ship builder. Martin is a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW, a Fellow the Australian Society of Marine Artists and a member of the Sydney Model Shipbuilders Club. He was the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at the Sydney Heritage Fleet shipyard. In 2012, he won the ANL Mission to Seafarers Art Prize. He is also the winner of the d’Arcy Doyle Art Prize, Singleton Art Prize and the Thora Ungar Art Prize at the Royal Art Society of NSW. Martin’s use of light, colour and both intricate and painterly brushwork, combine to produce impressionistic and expressive paintings
